The Tecra A2 is a reasonable 5.7 pounds, which is fairly light given its 15-inch display. The display, with 1024-by-768 native resolution, is sharp and bright. A tapered front bezel gives the Tecra a streamlined look, and there's plenty of room to rest your palms below the keyboard and touch pad. The Tecra has two USB port. The USB ports are located on either side of the unit, as are the audio jacks and volume control, and rear access connectors include Ethernet, modem, and parallel ports. The Tecra A2 contains Intel's 1.6-GHz Pentium M processor and a 512MB of SDRAM. Standard equipment includes a 40GB hard drive, a DVD/CD-RW combo drive, and an 802.11g integrated wireless solution. It also comes with Microsoft Windows XP Professional, whereas most value laptops come with XP Home.
